*I bought this same adaptor at a local video game shop. I only needed an adapter for my NES and figured why not power 3 systems in 1? For the most part it will do what it says. I used it for the last 6 months on my SNES and NES. It's been very convenient to only have to use one AC adapter on my powerstrip. My Nintendo and SNES sit side by side and I can switch from system to system. Perfect! No switching cords or trying to get two adapters to fit on one strip. *Now for use with Sega. They may have been pushing it with the 3 in 1.I've read in other reviews about a loud buzzing noise your Sega will emit. In my experience this is true. And it's CONSTANT. Luckily for me I have a spare adapter. If I didn't, I probably would have assumed that there was something wrong with my Sega. Someone could easily buy a Sega Genesis on Amazon, use this adapter, and assume the seller sold them a bad item. If you hear that buzzing sound it's the adapter not your Sega. The video will come in fine on your TV. You can hear music and sounds but it's drowned out by the noise the adapter puts off. For use with a Sega you should look elsewhere. It seems like the Sega might have been just a throw in because it works off the same cord as the Nintendo.
*I've also read about the adpater overheating and the lid popping off as a result. I've played many hours on the adapter and never had a problem. Alot of the adapters heat when you play a lot of hours with it. Again, I've had it 6 months, use it all the time, and there's been no problems in that area.
*What your left with is basically a 2 in 1 for your old Nintendo systems. Unless you play your Sega with the volume down (which I sometimes do) then you can consider it a 3 in 1. Overall, great with the Nintendos, and could be used as a spare for your Sega Genesis.
