Monster In My Pocket Review

Monster In My Pocket(From The Back Of the Box)
CUTTING THE ENEMY DOWN TO SIZE WILL BE NO SMALL FEET
Thousands of history's famous monster gather for the meeting of the century. But their volcanic convention center erupts, mysteriously turning them into terrors of pint-size proportions. They escape to the home of Jack, the teenage "Captain of Cool". There begins a battle between the good ghouls and The Warlocks band of evil beasts.
You must become The Vampire or The Monster and lead the forces of right through a humongous, human-sized world six levels deep, featuring Jack's house a scummy sewer, a hazardous construction site and an odd oriental palace. Don't get burned on the kitchen stove or crushed by runaway golf balls. And try to avoid getting clubbed by flying fish or jabbed on the barbed wired fence. In fact, all things considered you may want to team with a friend and put up twice the fight. Either way, you'll find yourself climbing stairs, running across roofs, falling down manholes, jumping over fences, scaling steel girders, and riding on a soda pop can. Meanwhile you'll have to punch and zap at all your fiendishly favorite monsters including the head rolling Skeleton, the rock candy throwing Goblin, the fire spitting Haniver, the bone crushing Cyclops and dozens more.
Every monster you mash is worth points. Score enough and you'll get an extra life. Something you'll really need when you finally face the powerful Warlock and his magic lightning jolts. So be a pocket-size peacemaker and conquer the smallest threat to monsterdom the world has ever known.

*This is a really fun and easy game to play. Konami did a great job of turning this toy franchise into a action platform game. It's arcade style and fun with a friend playing simultaneously through the scrolling levels. Graphics are top notch for a Nintendo game. Levels are colorful and creatively done with 6 bosses including Bigfoot and a Gremlin. There are a couple of things the game could have used, weapons being one of them. Your defense is basically a punch that shoots off a shield that kills any monster in it's path. Also I would have liked more of a character selection. I like the Vampire and Frankenstein characters, but the cover shows a kick ass werewolf that would have been fun to play with. This game could be beaten by yourself in a few hours, and probably quicker with a friend depending on your skill set. Still though, it's challenging enough, and should take a few trys before you beat the game. I also like knowing I have a 2 player game that can be played simultaneously, and can actually be beaten. Highly recommended!
