Demon's Crest Review

Demon's CrestOf all the SNES games I enjoyed when I was younger, this is one of the few I can still enjoy as an adult. As usual, Capcom presented some excellent sprites and rich backgrounds. The music in this game, however, is a cut above the typical sound track of the time. The game play is similar to the MegaMan series, with bosses providing new powers that can then be used to great effect against other bosses. Several of these powers are also accompanied by control and gameplay changes - i.e. the ability to dash, improved flight, or swimming. It was a refreshing twist on what had, at the time, become a tired formula.

Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts Review

Super Ghouls 'N GhostsTake a visit to the classic arcade games, as you are a knight, on a side scrolling, zombie / monster killing quest to save your princess from Lucifer himself. Along the way to Lucifer through eight action packed worlds you pick up different weapons, like the knives, crossbow, torch and various others, to battle zombies, monsters, birds, magicians, wolves, skeletons, ghosts, ghouls and tons of traps. This would be a five star game, if it were not for its huge difficulty! Hundreds of enemies coming at you, no save points (when you die you start at the beginning of the level), and two hits your dead, that spells a short lived play time for younger players. Good graphics, side scrolling platform game.
