Baseball Simulator Review

Baseball SimulatorFirst off, of course graphics are going to be hurting, especially if you've played the newer systems or even a machine at the arcade before those systems.Baseball simulator is FUN.Anybody can make a baseball game with the real teams, the real players, the real feel, etc.Are those any fun? No.They try to be so real that they lose the fun factor.Baseball simulator brings in special powers, bomb-ball, power-swing, multi-pitch, and more to add spice to the players and to the game itself.Got 2 strikes on the big hitter?Strike him out with 200 mph super super fast ball (literally ssfb special power). It plays like any other baseball games of the time, except you can actually hit the ball. This is a baseball game you can play. Not cuss at.And anybody can play it, kids, adults, anybody.I started playing this game when I was 17 years old and I had played all those other ones looking for something FUN.This was it and if you want a fun baseball game, for the money, and the ease of playability, this is it.

Mario is Missing! Review

Mario is MissingMany people have thought that educational video games would be good, beneficial, and most of all, fun for the younger generation. However, Mario is Missing, a "game" produced for the NES and Super NES, could not have made things any more different. It is one of the three teaching Mario "games" that seemed like what the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man and E.T. were to the gaming industry when they were released: simply boring and unenjoyable.

The conflict of Mario is Missing, as the name suggests, is that Mario is missing. Now, it is up to his brother Luigi to help rescue him. This dull geography lesson of a game has Luigi going around the world, collecting famous artifacts and returning them to a Lost & Found in towns such as Venice, Italy. Three artifacts are required for each town, and then Yoshi can be found. Luigi is then able to move onto the next town, and closer to finding Mario.

Side-scrolling and some original Mario graphics are present, but the visuals seem to add absolutely nothing at all to Mario is Missing. The various towns and locations seem to be endless, and you will most likely go traveling around in circles before you'll have fun with this.

Parents might think that this is a way to get their kids to learn while having fun at the same time. Unfortunately, there is much more learning, whether it be useless geography facts or trying to navigate this city. I am personally surprised that this met Nintendo's standards, because it is, by far, the most lifeless and boring "game" that I have played for any Nintendo system. Education and Mario just don't mix, and Mario is Missing is no exception. I know that many people do not listen to reviews that rate a product low, but believe me, this does not deserve the Nintendo Seal of Quality.

World Heroes 2 Review

World Heroes 2i may need to preface this by stating that the fighting genre is my all-time favorite. i don't even remember this game from back in the day but for me it is an overlooked gem. the play style features both a regular and death match mode. death match feature contains sabotaged stages. the characters are interesting for their time. and as far as fighting games go very interesting. the story line is unimportant. one fights to save/control the fate of humanity or to show they are the best of_______ tournament. something like that. the end boss is just plain cool. graphically speaking i feel world heroes 2 shines. is it the best looking game on the snes. no. if you like fighting games. buy it. i hope you'll enjoy the nuances this game provides. if you don't like the fighting genre, there really isn't anything new here. at least nothing you would appreciate.

Ys III: Wanderers from Ys Review

Ys III: Wanderers from YsAs someone who grew up playing classic adventure and fantasy titles, I can say that Ys 3 must be included on anyone's list of top games for the SNES. This is rare game for the SNES, but if you can get your hands on it, I say do it. A relatively short game, it can be finished in 6-8 hours, and still packs a punch. The graphics are good when compared to other games of its time and genre. It's one of those games that grabs you and doesn't let go - I finished it recently in three sittings, just couldn't turn away from it. This is a rather challenging game - you can get killed early in the game just as easily as you can on the final boss. The controls are crisp and fast, and story and levels are engaging. While not on the level of the Zelda, Metroid, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger games that this game is a mesh of, it is still worthy of considerable replay. I bought a used copy on Amazon recently for some nostalgia and was glad of it, lot of fun. Pick it up! Could also have some high resale value in 10+ yrs.

Jim Power: The Lost Dimension in 3D Review

Jim Power: The Lost Dimension in 3DIf you are looking for a game that's a challenge, here you go. I guess this game is pretty entertaining if you can manage to get past the first few levels. To me, it's entertaining but iritating. I like to play a game that give's me a good challenge but also doesn't drive me crazy because it is so hard. So, overall, if you want an almost immpossible challenge, I would say this game is worth some of the prices it's selling for.

Flintstones II: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak Review

Flintstones II: Surprise at Dinosaur PeakSo what makes the game so great?Well you can play as Fred or Barney and switch at anytime with SELECT, a revolutionary concept for the NES.The game is a fun platformer that gets pretty challenging as the game goes on with some hidden bonus levels where you can collect stars toward 1-ups and also some fun sports mini games. This was one of the last games released for NES so the game really takes the NES to it's limits.

A true collectible, Flintstones Surprise at Dino Peak was primarily "rental only" making it difficult to find and especially rare with box and manual. The game now sports a price tag of 224.95 and higher on Amazon.com
