Wizards & Warriors Review

Wizards & WarriorsTodays generation of gamers are exposed to WAY too many sword-slashing adventure/action games on the Playstation 2 and 3, along with the Xbox.It sickens me to see so many games that have the same exact gameplay.

Wizards and Warriors, however, was influential back in the days of the NES, and clearly stands above other games from the same time period. That's because the play control, graphics, and music in the game are all exceptionally good. You won't have ANY trouble moving your character around the screen. The graphics are on the same level as Super Mario Bros. 3, and the music... well, let's just say, the music is so good that a rock band actually covered some of the themes. To me that's proof I'm not the only one who found the music interesting.Other people out there noticed the memorable music, too.Years later, I can still remember a few of the themes.

The game throws in a LOT of enemies for you to battle throughout each world you visit, but it's not like this makes the game difficult. You see, for some reason, the game offers you infinite continues, and you CAN'T DIE unless you simply refuse to hit the continue button.I will never know why they made the game this way.

It doesn't matter, though.Wizards and Warriors is one of the best and most original sword-swinging adventure games you can find for the NES.The fact that the levels you visit are actually giant worlds for you to walk around killing everything in sight, including jumping up high on platforms to find secret areas, makes this a truly wonderful game overall.
