Tetris the Soviet Mind Game Review

Tetris the Soviet Mind GameThis version of Tetris plays smoother and has more options than the regular NES version. The shapes are not made of separate blocks forming the shape; rather, they are continuous and brightly colored which makes game play easier on the eyes. The goal to form four lines making a "tetris" is the same as the other version.Between each stage you get up to six Russian dancers entertaining you. You get to choose the speed, handicap, and music. Two people can play in different windows or play together in the same window.
The Tengen version of Tetris is rare; I can't recall the exact number made but I think it was a couple of thousand. I have played this game hours on end, it's still my all time favorite NES game!

Product Description:
IT'S A BATTLE OF WITS IN THIS SOVIET MIND GAME! From the land that has produced the greatest chess minds comes a very different mind game. Developed by two Soviet programmers, TETRIS is the first computer game to breach the Iron Curtain. It now stands before you, not as a test of crude brawn, but as an intense battle of wits. TETRIS is a dynamic puzzle that seems easy enough: Rotate and flip mowing geometric blocks into unbroken rows. When you completely fill up the bottom row, it disappears from the screen and your score rises. When enough rows vanish, the blocks descend faster and faster. Nothing to it, right? Wrong! When you can't find the way to make the pieces fit together and more blocks tumble down to clog your screen, you'll wish you had ten hands -- and ten brains.

Super Black Bass Review

Super Black Bass"Black Bass" is not the best fishing game you can get.It hasmediocre graphics, decent sound, but it's not that fun.Even if you'recatching tons of fish, it's not that fun.I got tired of playing it afterabout 30 minutes.Luckily, I just borrowed this one from a friend.I havea fishing game called "Bassin's Black Bass" and it features HankParker, and it's a great fishing game.
Bottom line, if you like goodfishing games, don't get this one.

Silver FC 16 Go Portable SNES System: Plays Super Nintendo Games on LCD Screen Review

Silver FC 16 Go Portable SNES System: Plays Super Nintendo Games on LCD Screenthe fc16 go system is awesome. the graphics are spot on as if you were playing on the original super nintendo. except that the backlighting is not like the nintendo ds system. still I am really impressed with this product. with this you can enjoy the super nintendo on the go. I have not yet tried hooking up the fc 16 go to the tv so I do not know how that works yet, also I have yet to scynchronize the wireless controllers yet too. the battery life on this system is around 3 hours. but you get a rechargable battery with this system so having to purchase batteries all the time is out of the question. I am pleased with this product and highly recommend this to anyone interested in buying a portable snes. also the sound quality is pretty good. I have no complaints and you won't either, it is decent. hope this helps with anyone wondering if this is a purchase they should make. I was sceptical at first but now I am happy with my purchase.5 stars all around!!!

FC/Genesis Dual Action 2-in-1 Video Game System for Sega Genesis 16-bit & NES 8-bit Games Review

FC/Genesis Dual Action 2-in-1 Video Game System for Sega Genesis 16-bit & NES 8-bit GamesGot one of these the other day.
Gamepads are responsive and are similar to the newer genesis 6 button pads.
I can only recommend this system as a affordable genesis/mega drive replacement.

The NES portion seems problematic.
Which unfortunately was the main reason i purchased this.
Just like the original old front loading NES,some games need to be reseated a few times to work.
While others seem to work on the first boot.
I even cleaned my cartridges prior to using the system,to avoid the possibility of dirty contacts.

Also dragon warrior 2 doesn't work,i suspect the same games that don't work on the FC Twin and the YOBO NES may be the case with this one also.

Some other gripes i have with the system
Build quality is cheap.
The small foot print and lightness of the system makes cartridge removal a pain.
You have to pickup the system to remove NES carts.

Gamepad cords could be about 2 feet longer and could be slightly bigger.

NES sound playback has line noise from the power supply.

--------------------------
After addional play testing
I found some genesis games actually slow down and speed up while playing.
Poor emulation or the processor isnt up to snuff.

Ignore my original 3 star rating.
If you can find a used genesis cheap, you may be beter off.

Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball Review

Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League BaseballRead that title, and do some soul searching to find the answer we all seek. Where would we be without Ken Griffey Jr. baseball for SNES? I'll let you ponder that for a while. I'll tell you where we'd be:
1. We'd be deprived of hours upon hours of home run derby with classic hitters such as Can O'corn, Nick Noheart, and Barny Tater.
2. We'd be missing out on right fielders throwing absolute bullets from the fence to gun the fool who thought he could score.
3. We wouldn't understand what good music is, I mean, this soundtrack is unbeatable.
4. We wouldn't know that it was humanly possible to hit a 575 foot home run.
5. We've all learned you can never think of messing with a pickle because all infielders run a 2.4 40 yard dash (lightning speed)
6. There's the fact that every pitcher throws about 105 mph, more or less.

Basically, our lives would be dull and meaningless. We would know nothing of the true sport of baseball and how silly of a game it can be.

On the more serious side, this game is a classic, it has provided hours upon hours of fun for the young and old. It started a baseball revolution. Your Super Nintendo collection is incomplete without Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball. Play, laugh, learn, love...and stop reading my review it is numbing your mind.
