NBA Live 95 Review

NBA Live 95This is where the NBA LIVE games started. There has been a billion releases of new versions since this game released in 1994. This game was good, but I strongly recomend NBA LIVE 96 (SNES) over this one.

Claymates Review

ClaymatesThis game is one of the many games that i prefer to the new games with outstanding graphics. This game was one that kept me playing for weeks and weeks unlike games that have come out in recent year that i finish in under one week. Recently i have been playing this game (as in comparison to when i played it when it first came out) because of this games ability to addict you. This is a game that is a must for any gaming expert in need of a challange that keeps you working.

Super High Impact Review

Super High ImpactEven to this day I can quote a line from this game and make my friends laugh.

The game is cheesy, as soon as you accept that, you can enjoy it for what it is. Its not in depth by any means. Theres no real players with stats and abilities, so in essence, everyones the same. Some of the best parts are hitting a guy and injuring him. He will squirm on the ground screaming "Owe my knee!!" and you can hit a guy so hard his pads explode and hes almost naked. Although these things by themselves are funny and all, its the cut scenes that make this game. If you get a QB sack, it goes to a cut scene of a fatass lineman spitting while hes yelling "I eat quarterbacks for breakfast".And of course theres the announcer. Hes in a league of his own with his classic comments like
"Somebody get a bodybag" and "Touchdown" (Its how he sas it obviously)
And last but not least the HIT-O-METER. You can kill a guy and it rates you a mamas boy?

Just dont take it too seriously, its not that kind of game.

Ranma 1/2: Hard Battle Review

Ranma 1/2: Hard BattleIf you liked fighting games back in their heyday, such as "Street Fighter" or the subsequent "Street Fighter II" or any of the "Samurai Sho*Down" games, this might just be something you'd want to look into.

...IF you are a "Ranma 1/2" fan, that is.

I don't believe that it's entirely accessible to people who don't follow the series (but could possibly have the effect of getting someone who hasn't read the manga interested in it!). Someone commented on liking the choice between fighting as male or female Ranma, but personally, I would have really gotten more of a kick out of the game if you only had the option of playing Ranma and you had the option of knocking him into ponds or throwing him against barrels or buckets full of water and having him change right in front of you. And I also have no idea why on earth they found it prudent to include Gosunkugi and the Gambling King as possible opponents instead of either of the Kunos. Wouldn't the Kuno kids be a bit more authentic? Gosunkugi certainly can't fight worth a damn in the series, and the Gambling King isn't exactly known for that type of thing either; he's good at cheating little kids out of their money, not hand-to-hand combat.

Though it's still a pretty fun game. It's definitely challenging; each character has their own specific opponent who gives them more of a run for their money than the rest. They seem to be based off of real character relationships, as well: for example, I found that playing as Akane would produce the result of Shampoo being the hardest opponent to deal with. When playing as Ryouga, Ranma seemed the greatest challenge. When playing as male Ranma, I found (heh heh) that Akane was the most difficult to defeat. I could be imagining these subtle individual character skill levels, of course, but ... nah.

It's worth a look, anyway. It would have been much more fun had it been longer, but I'm willing to overlook that just to be able to have a bonafide "Ranma 1/2" game amongst my collection. Quite a charming title!

Adventures of Lolo 3 Review

Adventures of Lolo 3This game is very weird. I have not beaten all three but this one is very hard. In this game u r lolo the blue ball, and ur partner that follows u around is lala the pink ball. The story is that the king turns everyone into stone in the village so u (lala) have to go to trees that have a level number on it and beat it. This is a puzzle game so u have to push strff around to block things from shooting at u and avoid from geting hit by one of the enemys. I only got to the last level on the part of the village to unlock the rest of it before i lost. which is not very far. Each one of the levels is in a small area that has many items in it. Ur purpose is to get to however many treasure chests and get the key out and avoid getting hit. That is why it is a puzzle game u have to look and find a way to get to the chests by pushing things around. The password feature is very helpful to continue where u left off at since there is no saving. If u like hard puzzle games, this one is for u.

American Gladiators Review

American GladiatorsHow you play this game, is you first select a gender and enter your name, then you participate in five or six competitions... These competitions are not random, and they come in the same order. You get points for each competition you win or lose and finally climb up to the final event, the Elimanator. This could have been such a good game, if there were more events, if the events were randomized and if there were actual gladiators with unique attributes. Poor game and poor game play.

Lemmings 2: Tribes Review

Lemmings 2: TribesThis game has at least 100 levels, if not more than 200.And that's perfectly fine with me.Lemmings 2 is one of those great games where you can sit down and play just a few levels at a time, enjoying it for years before you beat it.

For those not familiar with the concept of "Lemmings", let me fill you in:These little guys walk mindlessly around. That wouldn't be a problem, except that there are all kinds of dangerous things that they might walk into.So you have to assign them tasks to help them avoid these obstacles and ultimately, arrive at a certain checkpoint safe and sound.

It doesn't sound like much, but it's a lot of fun keeping these guys alive. The best part is that there are MANY different ways to finish a particular level (sometimes, you may even pat yourself on the back, wondering if you may have discovered a way that the manufacturers didn't think of). Moreover, the game has dozens of silly animations that add to the fun.

For those that loved the original, I suggest you come back here for more. There are plenty of creative new tasks for your lemmings to use, and plenty of new levels to master. For those new to the genre, well, what are you waiting for?Come have some fun while exercising your brain!
