Adventures of Lolo 3 Review

Adventures of Lolo 3This game is very weird. I have not beaten all three but this one is very hard. In this game u r lolo the blue ball, and ur partner that follows u around is lala the pink ball. The story is that the king turns everyone into stone in the village so u (lala) have to go to trees that have a level number on it and beat it. This is a puzzle game so u have to push strff around to block things from shooting at u and avoid from geting hit by one of the enemys. I only got to the last level on the part of the village to unlock the rest of it before i lost. which is not very far. Each one of the levels is in a small area that has many items in it. Ur purpose is to get to however many treasure chests and get the key out and avoid getting hit. That is why it is a puzzle game u have to look and find a way to get to the chests by pushing things around. The password feature is very helpful to continue where u left off at since there is no saving. If u like hard puzzle games, this one is for u.

TMNT III Manhattan Review

TMNT III ManhattanI thought I had played all the turtles game's back in the day, but recently I found out about this one. I'd never heard of it before!!! I spose if I's ever bothered to take notice i'd see that the original was 1, the arcade to nes was 2, Turtles in Time (arcade/snes) was 4 and tournement fighters was 5... leaving this as the 3rd.

I played it recently via emulation and it's pretty much just like the arcade(2). The game is actualy suprsingly good even by todays standard of gaming. The graphics arnt supurb, but there not that bad tho, the controls are easy and the game is fun.

You can pick all 4 turtles who each have a special move each. To execute it you push A then B, or B then A, one or the other. (jump then attack) Leo will spin around on the spot whirling his kitana blades around, Donny flips foward with two good bo shots, Raph does the Phyco Crusher (torpedo) and Mikey leaps into the air feet first and does a super kick.

The new aditional moves made the game a lot better then just simple button mashing all the time. All the baddies are back, tonne of foot soldiars, Rocksteady, Bepop, rock soldiars, mousers, flying robots and new to the list of boss' is a few unknowns and Tokka and Razaa from the TMNTII movie, as well as Leatherhead.

Fight it out to save April then go to defeat Krang and the Shredder.

It would be great to see them revive these games someday. This particuler version I think should just be the next level after the last of the Arcade(2) game and extend the game's levels. It seemed kinda short, just like the Arcade, it doesnt take long to beat it. So add 2,3&4 together and it would be a nice continues long game.

The Simpsons: Bartman Meets Radioactive Man Review

The Simpsons: Bartman Meets Radioactive ManThis is a very playable and enjoyable game. The controls in this game are the easiest to handle of all the Simpsons NES games. This game is closer to Bart Vs. The World in terms of game play, as it was the follow up. In this game you use eye beams and can freeze enemies. B button is used for a punch and kick combo, and is also used for the eye beams you shoot out. This is different from the other games as you couldn't kick or punch, and used lazer beams instead of cherry bombs. Of course the game is about avoiding enemies and jumping on platforms, but you can also fly and swim in this game. Swimming is also a different feature this game has. The levels are easy to navigate however they can sometimes be confusing as certain parts of the levels are meant for gathering bonus items and extra lives, not for progressing through the level. Played with an online walkthrough this is a very beatable game. I would of liked to have seen skateboarding in this game but I don't think it would have worked with the way the levels are set up. What makes this game easier than the other Simpsons NES games is you get to continue a couple of times if you run out of lives. Just like every other Simpsons games for NES and SNES, you play the entire game as Bart. The game kinda makes it seem like you can play with Fallout Boy as he's featured, but you can't. Bosses in the game are really easy especially if you read an online walkthrough. Radioactive Man's enemies have trapped him in the Limbozone and Fall Out Boy finds Bart in his treehouse to help him save Radioactive Man. Get Radioactive Man out of the Limbo Zone and together you take on the last boss Brain-O The Magnificent. (Who's really easy to beat) If your wondering what NES Simpsons game to get go with Bart Vs The World, and if you like it get this one too. Even if your not a Simpsons fan this is a solid NES game to buy.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Review

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doomindiana jones and the temple of doom, what can i say? this gamehad a lot going for it since the movie good, but alas, it was not ment to be. the first time you play the game, you bigin to knowtice something, the games messed up. when you jump, you fall down. at first, i thought it was natual to fall, but then you realize the only way this is possible is if indiana was climing, which makes no sense. another thing screw up is the way you change weapon. it's awkward and annoying having to reach over to the select button and push up, down, left or right just to swich weapons. it dosen,t even pause the game. and since the screens are looped, you going to get confused faster than indiana jones would. theirs more i can talk about, but it's not worth it. the game is fun, for the fist 10 seconds you play, but it soon falls apart as you go on.

for your own sake, don't waste you hard earned money on this garbage.

Bad News Baseball Review

Bad News Baseball...is that it's great! It is very simple baseball, but not to a fault. Some of the player attributes are fairly detailed; for example, your fielders have three seperate attributes, which determine how fast they run, how well they catch at each position, and arm strength. So sticking an outfielder at second base for added power will cause him to make lots of errors, and it's unwise to put a weak thrower at third base, regardless of their speed fielding skill.I like the strategy here, because a lot of the talented fielders tend to be weak hitters, and vice versa. So you've got a bit of flexibility as to what style of baseball you'd like to play.

Hitting is an exceedingly simple one-button exercise in timing. If you're swinging for the fences, however, you can wait a little longer and pull the ball, as the field tapers at the foul poles quite a bit.Wait too long, though, and you'll miss. These pitchers can throw pretty fast, too, so it's easy to get suckered by a change-up.

One minor quibble is that the AI is weak in spots. The hitters swing at everything that comes across the plate, regardless of speed. You could throw ten fastballs of over 100 mph, then follow with a 60 mph change-up and the AI will always be waiting on it.I don't think I've ever thrown a called-strike against the computer. It will fish for the same pitches consistently, however.

It sometimes makes poor choices in the field, too, like chasing a ball with the wrong fielder (and leading the right one out of position) or always going for a forceout on sacrifice bunts, even if they could easily cut off the runner on third. There's no infield fly rule, either, so you can easily exploit that for a double play if you're a big-fat-cheater.Some of the throws will be off-line, too, though that's actually kind of realistic.

It does some things very well, however.Your cutoff men are almost always in position to recieve outfield throws, for example. You need 'em, too, because your outfielders will occasionally (and realistically) miss very long throws, such as from deep-center to home. With practice, you can get your outfielders in position to make catches almost as frequently as the AI.Pitcher fatigue is managed very well, too.And it's tracked by the password system.

And there's plenty of humor to keep it interesting. When players make errors they're either bowled over, Charlie Brown-Style (love the "DONK" sound!), or hopping from foot to foot, bobbling the ball. The umpires are rabbits, who like to relax with a nice, hot bath during password screens. And the homerun cinematics, which vary frequently, are fun to see.

There's also a girl's league, accessible by code, for additional challenges.A minor quibble is that the female players turn male in the cutscenes, but that's not terribly important.

Fantastic game.Simple, engaging baseball.

Baseball Stars II Review

Baseball Stars IIThis was the best game ever for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You could play as one various computer teams, or create your own, which was the highlight of the game.
You could play a league with 2-6 teams of any combination of computer or human controlled teams. Each game you won awarded you with money, based on your players prestige. The money you won you spent on improving your players various skills.
The gameplay was also great. It had the traditional pitcher/batter matchup which was similar to RBI baseball, and a few others for the NES.You also completely controlled the fielders, there was nothing automatic about this game.
It's amazing that to this day, not one game have I seen that comes close to this in terms of replayability. It seems either games today spend too much time on the gameplay and graphics, but not enough on the extras (stats, team control, etc), but this game had it all.You had complete control of your players, and could improve them by winning, and at the same time the play of the game was the best on the market.
Hands down, this was the best game I ever played for the NES, and if you ever get the chance to experience it I highly recomend it.I spent the entire summer one year of high school in a friends basement doing nothing but playing this game.I experienced no sadder day than when the battery died.

720 Review

720This game by little means substitutes the original arcade "720" (the graphics and gameplay are shoddy even for 8-bit), but does do an OK job being converted to the NES and offers some nostalgic fun.One should EXPECT a redundant game, after all, this is a very old game and most old games were redundant on principle! If you want more variety out of your 8-bit skateboarding game, I recommend "Skate Or Die!" (for the record, this game was a ripoff, albeit a good one, of "720") or T & C Surf Designs.Otherwise, if you own a PS2 or Gamecube, get the "Midway Arcade Treasures" game for the full-on arcade "720" experience!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie Review

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The MovieThis was a much better improvement, compared to the previous Power Rangers game for Super Nintendo and Power Rangers The Movie on other consoles.I like the first Power Rangers for Super NES, but it was way too easy, graphics were'nt up to par, and not to mention the lack of actual enemies from the TV series (Goldar and King Sphinx were absent and you don't get to face Rita). Power Rangers The Movie sucked on Sega (too easy, less fun, and inacurate to the movie) and Game Boy (too difficult, uncontrollable buttons, and many other limitations). As for my review for the Super NES version of PR the Movie, it was fun.You get to morph whenever you feel like it (if you collect enough thunderbolts), except for when you finally get up to Ivan's henchmen!I still do not favor the fact about the exclusion of Lord Zedd and Rita, Few Recycled Rangers from the previous game...e.g. - Billy's nerdy appearance and clumsiness from the first season and first game remained(after season 1, he no longer looked nerdy) and lack on consistency with the movie (thats why I gave the game 4 stars, instead of 5).Graphics were improved (Ivan's monsters and putties) though and I love the flipping through different platforms of the screen and extras not to mention the two player co-op (unlike the previous game)!!Its difficulty matched the gameplay, unlike other difficult games like Battletoads and some of those crappy NES games with horrible gameplay that was also unfairly difficult. The game stood the test of time and I even got pissed off when I was about to purchase it for $5 at a tape store in 1998, but they only had the box as the actual cartridge was missing!Again, I give it 4 stars and I will plan on actually purchasing this game. Its the best 16 bit beat'em up action game, except for Turtles In Time!!
