this game really wasnt worth the money i paid for it its a mediocre rpg at best the story line is interesting but it takes really too long to get to the action and its not really that fun only recommend for die hard rpg fanatics

Congo's Caper Review

Congo lives peacefully in the jungle with his girlfriend until a mysterious and evil being swoops in and kidnaps her.But that's not all that he does.On top of kidnapping Congo's girlfriend, this being also turns Congo into a monkey.
Congo's Caper is a fairly decent 2D side scroller that seems like it's more geared towards kids.The graphics are cartoon-like, but for the most part, well done.The sound effects are especially child-like, especially the one when you use Congo's club and hit a pterodactyl (the kind of dinosaur that flies).The music isn't anything special, but it's not bad either.The controls are real easy to master, and the replay value is in the medium category.
In Congo's Caper, you have to use Congo and successfully complete four different worlds.The four worlds consist of a water world, a haunted place full of ghosts and vampires, a high-rising world full of lava and spouting volcanoes, and a world that is set in a valley that is full of dinosaurs.Each world has a few (about 5) levels, with a boss waiting in the last level of each world.
Congo is always equipped with a club that he can swing and hit his enemies with, but he has a few other abilities.Since Congo has been overtaken with a spell that makes him part monkey, he has great jumping ability.He can also slide and roll like a rampaging boulder.Throughout the game, you need to collect all the diamonds you can (for extra lives when you get over 100), silver slot machine items (get three in a row of the same character or item and you could get extra lives or even a warp to a further level), and apples.The apples serve as your energy.If you collect enough apples to fill up Congo's energy, Congo will be provided with an extra special ability (but I'm not going to spoil it for you).However, if you get hit so many times that you only have one energy unit left, Congo will literally morph into a monkey.
All in all, Congo's Caper isn't either a great game or a terrible game, it's average.Even though I was 15 at the time my mom bought me this game for Christmas, and even though it seems like it's more geared toward the younger generation of gamers, I still enjoyed the game.Most of the levels are real easy, with the exception of a few, and the bosses are surprisingly challenging.Congo's Caper is still fun to play from time to time even after you've beat the game from start to finish.For the players who don't want to try and go through the game in one sitting, after you complete a world, a password screen comes up, and you can write down the password and save it.And if you ever get bored playing it by yourself, you can always play a two player game with a friend, and you'll have to take turns playing it when one of you loses a life.
If you're a parent and you have kids that enjoy playing Super Nintendo games, I recommend getting them Congo's Caper.If you're an older gamer, you would probably want to pass up on Congo's Caper, but then again, you might enjoy it.

Weaponlord Review

Weaponlord as a single player experience is designed for dedicated players. The battles are very difficult, and it can take hours upon hours mastering the deep battle system in order to make any progress against the computer even on the easiest of four difficulty levels. If you're looking for a 2D game that you can't beat just by button mashing, this is one is for you.

Options matter to me, so I'll go over the fine details. There are only 7 characters (2 female), and no random select option. Characters may fight themselves. There's a mandatory hidden but generous timer at the player select screen that forces you to pick a character within a certain time. Battles can be 2/3 or 3/5, and the 99 second battle timer can be turned on or off. You may select the place you fight in each round in the vs. mode, and there is a ladder option for up to 8 players. The "match" option works as winner stays, loser selects new, and the "single" option lets both players pick a new character each time. The arenas have no traps and solid edges on each side (no wrap-around).

As for style, the game has some decent effects for its time. Nothing by modern standards, but weapons clang together and the blood flies. The backgrounds are animated and generously parallax right down to the surface you fight on. There's a fatality feature, but winning is nearly as fun without it because the game lets you knock your opponent around before they hit the ground. Opponents each work their way through two life bars per round.

Perhaps the reason this game didn't catch on in the U.S. is because the play can be a tad slow, the music is unvaried, the animation seems a little scarce and the limited characters can get old fast. Still, at the price these are selling at it's worth picking up for your collection if you have a free spot on your shelf.

Spot:The Video Game Review

Anyone who was around when the Nintendo was new can remember the 7-Up spot. The "mascot" for 7-Up, featured in all the commercials for a few years. This game features that character, but not in the sense you'd think.
The gameplay is very simple, easy to learn, but difficult to master. If you've ever played Othello, it's very similar. The idea is to cover the board entirely with your color "Spot"s. You can clone spots into a square adjacent them, or you can jump them a few squares. When you place a spot next to an opponent's, the adjacent spots will change to match your color. That's where the fun and challenge come in.
The strategy game itself is good for hours of play against friends or the computer, with variations allowing up to 4 human or computer players, and varying skill levels for the computer. But the best part is the entertaining antics of the spots. Every possible move has a unique animation to it, and they are wonderfully done, and a joy to watch. These can be turned off if you like, but why would you?
I recommend this game to anyone who likes a good strategy game, at least so you can gloat over your friends when you humiliate them with it. :)

College Slam Review

Developed in 1996, this game is basicly a clone of NBA JAM. Same company, same makers and all that... only instead of having individual players like well known NBA stars, it instead gives you the option to choose if you want to be the centre, forwards or gaurds, which means do you wanna be big, medium or small. Apart from that, it basicly is NBA JAM.

Differences between this and NBA JAM are...
- What I said above
- New whirlwind powerup
- a powerup that makes the other teams ring vanish
- power up to be invisable
- season mode
- "juice" (speed up the game) is now an option, not just a code and goes to x4.
- maybe a few new dunks?

Cons
- CPU calls annoying time outs.
- Just because youre on fire doesnt mean it will always go in
- Its annoying when the CPU gets powerups like the ring vanishing one or hits an 8 point hotspot on the buzzer.
- you can only use one cheat at a time :( (meaning if you use the infinite fire cheat then you cant also use the 'dunk from anywhere cheat)

If they wanted to perfect this game, they shouldve had option for which powerups you could have in a game. It would be nice to turn off the slippery floors and vanishing ring amongst others.

This game will probably only appeal to the fans of NBA JAM, NBA JAM T.E & NBA HANGTIME... it's pretty much that game, but you might find it interesting to see some of the tweaks and changes... if you're into serios basketball games like the real thing, then you probably wont like this game. It's 2 on 2, crazy dunks, push & shove, no fouls and goes flatstick round da corna!

Axelay Review

Axelay is one of the best space shooters ever created, which is no surprise considering the publisher of the game; Konami; also crafted the exceptional Gradius and Cybernator. And like the latter games mentioned, it is one helluva difficult game to beat, and chances are you will never beat it.
WHAT THE GAME IS: A space shooter similar to Gradius, but it has no upgrades system. A mysterious alien force is eradicating the Illis Solar System, and solar system's fleet of ships is depleting, that's where you come in. With your ship called Axelay you must stop this force from destroying the solar system.
GRAPHICS: The graphics are better than Gradius III's, rather pretty, rather detailed, awesome ship and boss designs, cool level designs, and nice explosion effects, so this game is loaded with graphical juicyness.
MUSIC: It's good most of the time and manages to set the mood, but in some areas it's not that great. But that rarely occurs, so the music is good most of the time.
SOUND: Shooting, explosions, what did you expect?
GAMEPLAY: The controls are very finely tuned and work very nicely and fluidly, though I did notice some instances where I could not get my ship to go up in time to avoid an obstacle, so I did die a few times because the speed wasn't quite fast enough. This game is a one-hit-you're-dead game; like many of it's fellow shooters. However, this game is quite a lot of fun, even if you never beat it, but not as good as Gradius.
OVERALL: Axelay is a highly polished space shooter that will make a standout title in your Super Nintendo collection if you purchase this wonderful game, along with Starfox, Hyperzone, Cybernator, R-Type, and Gradius III to add to your SNES collection because they are well-worth the investment. Just don't buy Vortex, it will only give you pain.
THE GOOD: Highly polished shooter gameplay, good graphics, good music, and lots of challenge.
THE BAD: Challenge will be too much for some, the game isn't as good as Gradius III.

Super Smash TV Review

this game like others have said is hard. for it's day it was pretty face paced and does require a degree of strategy.Since there are so many different enemies you have to devise a strategy that works best to take them on...not only that they will mix the types later on so that one trick pony idea won't work.yeah this is one of my favorite SNES games.Even though my brother and I beat this game as many times as you can the replay is still great.
