Bible Buffet Review

Bible BuffetThe game is interesting from what I've seen of the Angry Video Game Nerd's review. Basically, you play candy land with very little reference to the bible with the exception of a couple of verses.

One thing that makes this game unique is that the game has a pretty clear voice instead of a distorted mess of a word. Doesn't seem bad.

Watch the AVGN video he does for this to see what it's like.

Little Samson (NES) Review

Little SamsonIt is unfortunate that this game is so hard to find as it is one of my favorites for the NES. A similar gameplay style to the Mega Man series, you get to control different characters with different attributes and weapons. Gain power-ups to make your weapons stronger, switch characters during gameplay, standard stuff but much better executed than most games of its ilk. It gets a bit hard near the end but is not unbeatable. It took me about 15 tries to get it. No broken controllers, although if I had this when I was younger... maybe.

Nintendo 64 Console Refurbished With One Contoller and Game Review

Nintendo 64 Console Refurbished With One Contoller and GameMan I played this in college in the 90's and had a TON of fun, picked up a console with games on Craigslist for my kids (2,4,5,7) and they absolutely love it! When I told them they could shoot each other playing 007, it was like I was the best dad ever! LOL, I have never seen them so excited! In 2010 This console is still awesome and very kid friendly! I may have to buy some stock in Nintendo cause THEY ROCK!

Generations of successful gaming console releases through the years led to the much-hyped 1996 launch of Nintendo 64, a system that represented a giant evolutionary leap in video game technology. Enlist some of your favorite characters from the Mario universe for a game of doubles in Mario Tennis. Boo, Daisy, Bowser--even new character Waluigi, brother of Wario--and more are here for a game that sets accurate tennis physics in an unpredictable fantasy world. Where else could you play tennis on a court surrounded by lava? Play solo or with up to three friends simultaneously. Exhibition Mode provides a friendly, straightforward game, while Tournament Mode will settle the bets. There's also a Ring Shot Mode, a tennis variant that has players trying to send balls through as many golden rings as they can.

The Magic of Scheherazade Review

The Magic of ScheherazadeKnowing the immense popularity of Zelda, you'd think at least a few people would have discovered The Magic of Scheherazade by now. Granted, it's a hard-to-spell title from an obscure company that only made six games for the NES (five of which sucked), but that just makes this a rare treasure from an unexpected source.

This game has a lot going for it. There's the action RPG element of Zelda (walk around an overworld stabbing/shooting guys; bosses; linear quest structure) along with the ingredients of a traditional RPG (HP/MP, leveling, magic, turn-based battles). It's the only game I know of from the 2D era that blended the two genres, and succeeded in making both modes of play fun. It's accessible yet has depth, is challenging yet fair, and the pacing feels just right (plus there's a save feature). As in all RPGs, random encounters are a fact of life, but in this game they're not an annoying pain in the ass (unlike in, say, Final Fantasy or Dragon Warrior) partly because they only happen when you cross between rooms and partly because they don't happen every 20 seconds.

On top of nailing the gameplay, Scheherazade also has a colorful cast of characters (your allies), a charming sense of humor, and a good amount of creativity in the graphics, text, and level design. Best of all, it's a music lover's delight. Seriously, load this game up and tell me if you've ever witnessed a title screen with a more awesomely harmonious opening piece. Having such a mesmerizing digital symphony by your side for 10 straight hours (5 if you've done it before) makes the adventure that much more of a pleasure.

The plot is typical save-the-princess cheese, but who cares? All you need to know is that next to Super Mario 1 and 3, Zelda, 1943, and Double Dragon II, The Magic of Scheherazade kicks more ass than any game on the NES.
